La démarche artistique de l’artiste Senz se fonde sur la résurrection de l’inanimé ou d’objets abandonnés, voire sur une certaine glorification de l’infâme.
La ville de New York pour laquelle l’artiste exprime une grande sensibilité est généralement utilisée comme support et sujet de son travail.
Son Art crée une malicieuse et singulière interaction entre sa propre vie (des divertissements aux événements marquants ou anodins de son quotidien) et ses fictions.
Les œuvres de Senz traduisent des histoires courtes, laissées presque en suspens comme pour leur insuffler une perpétuelle évolution.
L’artiste instaure dans son travail un récit biographique, une narration des émotions, les variations esthétiques ainsi établies sont liées à sa propre psychologie. De fait il y a toujours un lien conducteur entre ses premières et récentes œuvres.
A l’instar de nombreux artistes, Senz souhaite rester dans un certain anonymat, non pas pour créer une sorte de mythe autour de sa personnalité, mais pour tenir à l’écart son travail de la société de sur-communication (publicités, magasines, Internet).
His work is about the resurrection of unanimated things, abandoned objects and glorification of what is revolting.
The city of NewYork for which the artist has a high sensibility, is generally used like a support and is the soul of his work.
His art is an interaction between his own life (entertainment, striking or insignificant events of his everyday life) and his fictions.
Senz’s works convey short stories, sometimes unfinished but which are constantly in perpetual evolution.
Senz introduces in his work a biographical and emotional story; the aesthetic changes are linked to his own psychology. There is always a conductive link between his first and recent works.
Like many artists, Senz wishes to remain anonymous, not to create a kind of myth around his identity, but to keep his work away from the communication society (advertising, magazines, Internet).
Senz vit et travaille à New York.
Depuis son enfance passée entre New York, Paris et la Californie il évolue dans un univers artistique à travers sa famille, ses amis mais aussi le quartier créatif de Soho qui a eu une forte influence sur sa pensée plasticienne.
Il commence à tagguer à partir des années 1980.
De retour à paris en 1986, il fréquente le milieu du Hip Hop et du Graff et s’imprègne de cet univers créatif dans lequel musiciens et artistes se côtoient et se nourrissent d’inspirations.
Quelques années plus tard, diplômé de l’école parisienne ESAG Penninghen il repart vivre à New York.
Dès lors il commence à travailler sur des dessins et peintures de grandes dimensions acquises rapidement par des collectionneurs anonymes, des institutions ou des entreprises.
Sa recherche consiste à représenter son univers quotidien par le biais de multiples supports d’expression : la peinture, la typographie, la photographie numérique, les impressions en noir et blanc ou encore les collages. Dans l’œuvre de Senz, la vie, son quotidien, son univers urbain, tout est un moyen de nourrir sa créativité, fruit de ses expériences de vies réelles et de son imagination.
Senz lives and works in New York.
During his childhood who took place between New York, Paris and California he grew up into an artistic universe with his family, his friends but also the creative Soho district which inspired a lot his plastic works.
He started tagging during the 1980’s. In 1986, he moved back to Paris and discovered the Hip Hop and graffiti‘s environment where musicians and artists frequented and found inspiration.
A few years later, graduated by the Parisian school ESAG Penninghen, he decided to go back to New York.
He started to work on large drawings and paintings which he sold to anonymous collectors and major companies.
His aim is to represent his daily universe through a lot of supports of expression: paint, typography, digital photography, black and white prints or collages. In Senz’s works, life in general, his everyday life, his urban universe, everything is supposed to inspire his creativity, fruit of his life’s experiences and his imagination.
